The numbers:
Difference in number of cases: 487,857 (32% increase)
-1% decrease rate
Difference in mortality: 38,351 (43% increase)
10% increase rate
Difference in recovery: 148,773 (45% increase)
28% increase rate
Total of “unknown” outcomes: 1,391,095
Ratio of mortality-to-total-known-outcomes: 1:5
280,000 mortalities projected from current number of unknown outcomes
We have our first negative percentage rate, appearing in the total number of cases, which is good news. The curve is starting to flatten, though the mortality rate is still persistent, which is unfortunate. Keep doing what you’re doing and the world will get better.
Be careful, stay positive, and as always, follow the CDC guidelines for staying healthy during this trying time.

The numbers are looking better, next week will provide a better idea as to where this is going, even as the lock-down has us all going a little crazy.
Difference in number of cases: 492,423 (48% increase)
18% increase rate
Difference in mortality: 34,986 (66% increase)
35% increase rate
Difference in recovery: 116,551 (55% increase)
181% increase rate
Total of “unknown” outcomes: 1,090,362
Ratio of mortality-to-total-known-outcomes: 1:5
220,000 mortalities projected from current number of unknown outcomes
Keep in mind that we are practicing “social distancing,” but unless a vaccine is created, the virus will have to run its course at some point in time (see “herd immunity“). Social distancing is about trying to prevent an overload on the healthcare system, but it doesn’t actually do anything for people destined to get sick. It’s a bleak outlook since the goal of social distancing is to isolate the virus, which is, in essence, virtually impossible. That being said, it shouldn’t stop us from doing everything possible to stay healthy as human beings: maintaining clean living spaces, washing hands, eating well, and general self-care with the inclusion of healthy spirituality.
At this point it should be noted that the data here is loosely provided by WORLDOMETER and should therefore be understood as obvious estimations. The goal is ultimately to spot glimmers of hope in the trends that emerge.
Be careful, stay positive, and as always, follow the CDC guidelines for staying healthy during this trying time.
